Disney’s dog costume is back at Disneyland after a two-month absence, with a “clean-up crew” helping to get the dog to the top of the ride.
Disneyland spokeswoman Sarah Pacheco confirmed to CNN that the costume was still missing when they found it at the park last week.
“The costume was missing, so we’re bringing it back, and I’m hopeful that everyone will be able to see it and enjoy it,” Pacheca said.
This is the first time since the costume disappeared in August that a dog has been seen in Disneyland, Pachecos said.
The costume, which has been part of the park since the 1960s, was replaced this year with a new version made of polyester.
Pacheco said it was a “pretty simple” job, but that the team has been on site since Tuesday, working on a new costume and cleaning the ride up.
Disneyland officials are now looking into getting the costume back at the Disney Hotel and Resorts, where it belongs, she said.
Pace said the team had been at Disneyland since August, but this was the first “cleanup” for the park.
The park is still a closed system, so the only way for guests to see the costume is to head to the hotel, Pape said.
She said the costume had been in the park for a few months, and had been a favorite of many of the people who came to see her during her six-month stay.
A spokesperson for Disneyland said the “clean up crew” was working to get it back to the park, but added that “it’s a big undertaking.”
